The BLOG is Back!

"A Laptop Computer" by Calvin

The Room 4 Blog is back in action, thanks to the generous donation of a digital camera by Tawni and John Sullivan. Help me in thanking them when you see them at school.

The primary goal of this blog is to bring you into the classroom, to see what we do, and provide a framework for meaningful communication with your child. I'll attempt to do updates as often as possible, subject to my own spare time and internet access.

"Today's Activity" provides simple accounts of activities in the classroom. Art, science, math, music, gymnastics, movement and good ol' creative play will be featured.

"Today's Story" is one of our most popular features. In these entries, I try to give a visual, title, author and a brief synopsis.

You won't see any photos of cute kids smiling and mugging for the camera. I intentionally frame and crop faces out of the photos for two reasons: 1) To protect their privacy and; 2) To focus your attention on what they are doing and how they learn.

This is a workplace. It is a play place. Above all, it is a busy place. It won't always be pretty. It is seldom cute. It is the work they do that we celebrate.

That said, here's a list of our students and the primary groups:

RABBITS
Adriana
Bereket
Clara
Connor
Dylan
Gregory
Jaewon
Johnny
Mai
Max
Tessa
William

SQUIRRELS
Aaron
Anna
Bella
Calvin
Faye
Gabriel
Griffin
Logan
Maxwell
Nicholas
Riona
Taevin

I will attempt to feature every child, but I don't keep any quotas.
Remember, the focus is always on the work they do.
