Monday Traffic - Go!

TODAY'S ACTIVITY
Usha began a project with both groups, the first stage of which involved painting circular paper plates. It's interesting to see how and where they start painting on the round shape as opposed to the usual rectangle. Some start in the middle and radiate outward, others swirl around and around until the entire thing is covered. We'll see what the next step is tomorrow.

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
Andy alternates the raccoons and squirrels in the multi-purpose room this week. We used the large rings as props for "From Here To There", driving and piloting all kinds of vehicles. The session concluded with a fishing variation of musical chairs in which the "fish jump into bubbles". The odd one out is "caught" and directed to the boat (stack of mats). They had a great time.

TODAY'S STORY
Goldie Locks Has Chicken Pox, by Erin Dealey and Hanako Wakiyama. Sonya read this witty book with retro 50s-inspired illustrations, this book tells of Goldie Locks coping with chicken pox. Cameos from the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood, etc...lend special treatment that her little brother envies. That is, until he gets them in the end.
